While I make all kinds of small and medium dragonflies on clippies for young girls, this one was created with a very special purpose in mind. My friend, Sherri Minor, loved all things dragonfly . . . the real ones, jewelry, art, clothing, anything. She lost her battle with breast cancer in February of 2010. Yesterday would have been her birthday, so in her honor, I made a large dragonfly with breast cancer awareness ribbon for wings. I also attached it to a barrette instead of a clippie . . . Sherri had the thickest, most gorgeous hair you have ever seen. I'm not sure this will ever be worn, but it makes me smile to look at it and remember my sweet friend.
