Christmas all grown up

have entered that awkward phase with our oldest.  She is too old for the sweet smocked dresses but still too young for the teen stuff. Luckily, she still wants a bow to go with her dress . . . and when I saw the price on the one in the catalog, I told her I would make whatever she wanted.  This is what G chose . . .

Feathers with Flair

This was a custom order for a friend's daughter's nine month pictures.  So fun with tulle, shabby chic flowers, and the feather pad . . . not to mention a little sparkle thrown in!

Spiky Christmas

I have had more fun making these cuties in different Christmas themes!  I have to confess . . . I kept the pink and green snowman one for my youngest to wear.  The other two were put on clips, added to woven headbands, and sent off for the wonderful clients at Salon DeShano to peruse!

After enjoying Christmas with my family, I think I will make some of these in a Valentine's Day theme.  Please let me know what you think!

Christmas Classic

Seems like it is all the rage this days to branch out into aquas, pinks, and lime greens for Christmas.  While I love those colors, there are times I just want Christmas to be classic.  What do you think?

Tweet and twitter . . .

My sister has been telling me for quite some time that I need to join the world of Twitter.  I finally capitulated today and created an account . . .

                  @nurneysjourneys

Now I need your help!  What to do with twitter?  Suggestions on hashtags?  For someone with several graduate degrees, I am woefully inadequate when it comes to technology and social media.  Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Nurney's Journeys - ribbon accessories

What a long, strange trip this has been . . . but wonderful!

How many of you know that Nurney's Journeys started out five years ago as a homemade organic baby food company?

And then we moved on to children's clothing?

You see, Nurney's Journeys has always been a celebration of my children, as well as a representation of all I wanted to do well for them.  That means the business has evolved over time.

It also means I've changed with the market, but I hope I've finally found my niche.  My new motto is "whimsical, yet preppy" ribbon creations for girls and women.  Of course, I do have one son, so you'll occasionally see something he wants made.

Thank you for looking.  I know there are many options out there, and I appreciate you taking the time to look at my creations.
